Rawes Wood is a mature broadleaf woodland located in the Carse of Gowrie, near the village of Longforgan, with direct access from a minor country road. The wood was planted in 2003/04 and has established well, with a mix of oak, lime, birch, alder, ash, and rowan trees, as well as woody shrubs and Scots pine. The woodland is a haven for wildlife, with roe deer, hares, and woodland songbirds spotted during visits. With its secluded location and level ground, the wood offers wide views of the surrounding hills and is close to Dundee city centre, making it an ideal retreat from urban life. The incoming owner will have the opportunity to manage the wood, with suggestions from the forester including a light thinning and high pruning to enhance tree form and long-term value.
