This is a mature, mixed broadleaf woodland located in a secluded valley in the Derbyshire Dales, adjacent to the Peak District National Park. The woodland is made up of mature ash and sycamore trees, with elm, holly, and hazel in the understorey, and features beautiful wildflowers such as dog's mercury, harebell, and ramson. The woodland is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, badger, and squirrel, and has a well-used badger sett. The site is moderately to steeply sloping in places, but has the potential for a path and steps to be built to access the top plateau, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The woodland has an area of hardstanding for parking a car, and presents a great management project, with opportunities to plant new trees, clear brambles, and create a camping area.
