Description
Harehope East Forest is a 339.51-acre commercial forest located in the Scottish Borders, approximately 5 miles northwest of Peebles and 21 miles south of Edinburgh. The forest was originally planted between 1972 and 1973 with Sitka spruce, and has since been restocked with a mix of Sitka and Norway spruce, creating a diverse age class structure. The forest has excellent timber growing conditions, with much of the first rotation having been felled and restocked in the past 12 years. There are also mature sections of Sitka spruce that can be felled for immediate income. The forest has its own quarry, producing high-quality broken stone, and several large ponds for fishing and wildlife habitat. The area is renowned for its outdoor activities, and the forest offers excellent deer stalking opportunities. With its proximity to the well-established timber market in south Scotland, Harehope East Forest presents a desirable investment opportunity.
