The Former Netherplace Works site is a 15.27-acre brownfield land located in a semi-rural setting to the west of M77, with residential properties nearby. The site was formerly occupied by Netherplace Old Dye Works, but the buildings have been demolished. The site benefits from planning permission for a retirement residential community, care home, and multiple purpose village centre, as well as the formation of a new access road from Aurs Road. The area of Newton Mearns, where the site is located, offers a high level of amenities, including transport connections, leisure facilities, and accessibility to Glasgow City Centre, where many of the local working population are employed. The M77 runs along the western boundary of Newton Mearns, and there are ongoing new build developments in the area, including executive-style housing.
