A proposed development of seven 1.5-story, 5-bedroom detached villas with double garages and vehicular access is planned for a 2.19-acre rural site within Mamore Farm in Rahane, between Garelochead and Rosneath. The design of the site must complement and integrate into the surrounding countryside, with a focus on privacy, rural feel, and maximizing solar aspects and views. The villas will be positioned to take advantage of daylight and views, with bedrooms located on the first floor rear for access to balconies with loch and hill views. A home office will be included to allow working from home. The development will feature a SUDS (sustainable drainage system) scheme with a large filtration trench to catch surface water and rainwater drainage will be taken to ground within the site. The site will be split into three areas by a tree-lined burn and an old stone dyke, with minimal tree removal and access through the stone dyke to maintain these features. Pavement will be formed along the southern edge of the site, and an adoptable road will be formed of 1272 sq m (excluding private driveways). The village of Rosneath offers local convenience stores, cafes, a primary school, and health center, while the train station provides a sleeper service to London and up the west coast of Scotland. A half-hourly bus service also runs through Garelochhead, providing services to Helensburgh. The area offers beautiful scenery and is on the Three Lochs Way walking route, with Loch Lomond and its shores only a short drive away.
