Wilsford Wood is a peaceful Ancient Woodland located in semi-rural Kent, comprising a blend of oak, sweet chestnut, and hornbeam trees. The woodland is situated on partly level and gently sloping lime over chalk soils, resulting in a lofty canopy with a lush shrub layer and a vibrant ground layer featuring bluebells, purple orchids, and mosses. The woodland is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, deer, badgers, and dormice. The property offers a range of recreational opportunities, including bushcraft activities, and could be managed to produce a stock of domestic fuel. The woodland is accessed over a series of tracks and paths, and an Article 4 direction covers the area, requiring any structures to be built with planning permission. The Forester's Thoughts suggest that the woodland offers several lovely spots for camping and bushcraft, and that some of the larger sweet chestnut trees could be harvested for seasoned logs.
