Highland Wood is a 5 1/4-acre sweet chestnut coppice wood with oak standards, located about 5 miles north-east of Maidstone in Kent. The woodland has been designated as Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland (ASNW) by Natural England and is valued for its rich biodiversity. The wood is situated within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is part of a larger woodland known as Newlands Wood. The woodland has a mixed age sweet chestnut coppice that will reach full maturity between 2028 and 2034 and could be harvested in small blocks known as 'coupes'. The wood is home to a variety of wildlife, including bats, birds, and butterflies, and offers opportunities for both amenity use and learning how to manage a small chestnut coppice wood. The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
