Coed Wern Isaf is a mixed broadleaf woodland with a variety of tree species, replanted in 2019 after being previously coniferous. The woodland has natural clearings, including a stream running through a ravine, where foragers can find useful plants such as Meadowsweet, Mint, and Rosebay Willowherb. The property has good access from a minor road and a shared gate with the adjacent woodland, Coed Wern Uchaf. The woodland has a high voltage power line running over it, with a covenant to prevent trees from growing too close, and an underground gas pipeline that requires permission to plant trees or bushes over it.
