The Lodge is located at the entrance of the former drive of Elmwood Manor, which was destroyed by fire in 1916. The lodge, along with the remaining kitchen garden wall and scattered trees, provides insight into the history and layout of the original house and parkland, which once covered a large area to the southwest of the town. The lodge itself is constructed of brick, painted white, with a shallow Welsh Slate hipped roof, overhanging eaves, and brackets. The front elevation features a simple canted bay with narrow semi-circular arched sash windows, adding to its charming and historic character.
