Darwell Down Wood is an ancient woodland in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, near the village of Netherfield, East Sussex. The woodland is about 8 ¼ acres in size and features a variety of trees, including Scots pine, Corsican pine, Western hemlock, and oak. The wood is designated as a Plantation on an Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS) by Natural England and includes many broadleaves such as beech, sweet chestnut, mountain ash, and birch. The woodland is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, birds, and squirrels, and offers clearings for private family camping and the opportunity for ancient woodland restoration. The wood is sold with sporting rights and the owner will be asked to enter a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of the wood. The nearest railway station is at Battle, about 4½ miles away, and the wood is accessible via a wooden gate off Battle Road, with a track leading through the woodland to the ride stop entrance.
