Located just 10 miles north east of Holyhead, Llanddeusant is an idyllic linear village – a group of residences that follows a long line, in this case the A5025 road that runs past the village a few miles away – and is the perfect get away from it all place on the island.

Llanddeusant is home to Llynnon Mill, the only working windmill in Wales, a local attraction where you can follow the old mill trail and enjoy a traditional Welsh tea in the Llynnon tearoom.
My perfect day out in Llanddeusant

When you’re in the mood for getting away from it all, I recommend leisurely strolling to the windmill, buying some Llynon windmill flour and then enjoying a cream tea in the mill’s tearoom, then perhaps a brisk cycle or walk on the circular Nico trail, ending the day with drinks and deliciously locally produced food at the Black Lion Inn.

Places to eat and drink:
The Black Lion Inn, which is just outside the neighbouring village of Llanfathlu, is a fantastic pub that re-opened its doors in August 2012 after being sympathetically renovated having been derelict for many years. There’s a cosy bar and dining room in the original part of the building, and a modern extension with additional dining area to the rear from which you can see Llanddeusant village and the windmill.
The Lobster Pot restaurant, in Church Bay is of iconic fame to those in the know about fine dining on Anglesey. Family owned, with now the 3rd generation being involved, the restaurant serves, as the name suggests, delicious locally caught seafood as well as variety of other dishes. Please book in the summer months.
