The Area
Edderton is a village near Tain, lying on the southern shores of the Dornoch Firth. There is a sense of community spirit here with events taking place in the village hall and a mobile library and post office. There is a small primary school and buses run to the secondary school, Tain Royal Academy. Edderton is home to Balblair Distillery, which featured in the film “The Angel’s Share”. Tain lies 5 miles to the east where there are shops, banks, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels and rail services. Alness is 13 miles going over the Struie Hill and 19 miles going by the A9; Nigg Terminal is 14 miles and Invergordon 18 miles away. Kayaking, horse riding, hunting, shooting, fishing and hill walking can all be enjoyed in the area.
