Sarasota occupies a beautiful position within the historic Kilmartin Glen which is approximately 4 miles to the north of Lochgilphead.

Lochgilphead offers a good selection of village amenities including specialist shops, supermarkets, cafés, restaurants and banking facilities. There is a swimming pool, sports centre and hospital in the village. Primary schooling is available at Kilmichael Glassary and Loghgilphead, which also has a new secondary school. It is known for its unique stone carvings including a footprint and basin thought to have formed part of Dál Riata's coronation ritual. On the same flat outcrop of rock is an incised boar in Pictish style, and an inscription in the Ogham script which is believed to refer to a Finn Manach and is dated roughly to the late 8th century.

Directions

From Lochgilphead continue towards the roundabout and take the A816, signposted Oban. Follow the A816 for approximately 4 miles, turning right at The Horseshoe Inn. Turn left onto Dunadd View and Sarasota is the second last house on the right hand side.
