Description
Hurdle Wood is a 3km² ancient woodland located approximately 3km west of the village of Peasmarsh, within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The woodland features a varied mix of tree species, including sweet chestnut, birch, hornbeam, oak, hazel, and holly, as well as mature conifer. The site includes a rustic bench, a clearing with an old hornbeam pollard, and a recently cleared area where new trees can be planted.
The woodland also features an open field to the northeast and is surrounded by private woodland.
