Curl Wood is a 2-area woodland featuring a mix of Scots pine, birch, spruce, larch, hornbeam, chestnut, and oak trees. The wood has numerous wide clearings, ideal for family camping and woodland activities. There are two separate entrances, a main entrance with double wooden gates on the south-east corner and a secondary entrance with a single metal gate on the south-west corner, providing vehicle and pedestrian access throughout the year.

The wood is situated four miles from Tunbridge Wells, opposite the RSPB Broadwater Nature Reserve, which is home to various bird species. The boundaries are securely fenced on all sides, and there is adjacent land for which planning permission has been granted to renew and increase the height of a section of the roadside fence.
