Description
Coed y Mwyn is a long, narrow woodland along the Afon Alyn river, cleared of coniferous trees in 2020 and now featuring large areas of mature Beech and mixed broadleaf trees. The woodland is steep in parts but has flat areas and extraction tracks, with potential for quiet spaces for camping or sitting. The lower end of the woodland runs along the Afon Alyn, which runs dry most of the year, with access to the river banks via flat "beaches" and a historic ford.
The woodland has a diverse range of tree species, including Beech, Oak, Sycamore, Willow, Silver Birch, and Holly.
